The third-generation D-Max closed a lot of ground on its rivals inside the cab and in its electronics, but the tailgate still drops the way every pickup tailgate drops — freely and loudly. This strut is the simplest way to change that.

What it does. The damper slows the tailgate on the way down and helps it back up. The hinge and seal work more gently, and opening the bed one-handed stops being an exercise.

Build. 4.0 mm steel in a black finish — matched to the truck's black bed trim and up to what the back of a pickup collects: water, salt and grit.

Installation. A complete fitting kit is supplied. The manufacturer states the package contains one damper.

Fitment. Isuzu D-Max, third generation, from 2021 to the present (catalogue data: 2021-2023 and 2023 onwards).
