A Discovery III is a car for long distances, and the factory lighting tends to run out exactly where the more interesting part of the route begins. The trouble is that this model's heavy front end does not take bolt-on mounts well — anything built in front of the grille is immediately obvious.

These brackets take a different route: two LED lamps go into the radiator grille itself, held securely and level with the grille line. Instead of an extra bar you get a front end that looks as if it left the factory ready for the trail.

Designed around a specific lamp

The set was built for the Kramp LA10811, measuring 204 × 70 × 67 mm. The manufacturer also allows other LED lamps with similar dimensions and a similar mounting method — if you have another model in mind, compare those three figures and the way it mounts before you order.

Construction

The parts are 3D printed in black material resistant to UV and elevated temperature — the two things that genuinely attack anything living inside a grille: heat off the radiator and sun falling straight onto the slats. The black finish stays consistent with the factory grille.

Fitting — read this first

Fitting the Kramp LA10811 requires cutting away selected parts of the original radiator grille. That is what lets the lamps sit deep in the grille and line up properly. Test-fit the brackets together with the lamps and mark what has to be removed before cutting — the grille cannot be returned to its factory state afterwards. A full set of mounting bolts is included.
