Everything about a Discovery III is large: the weight, the front end, the frontal area. A bar mounted in front of a car like this changes its proportions immediately, and on the roof it adds to a height that is already considerable. So the extra light is better placed inside — in the grille.
This kit is complete: two OSRAM LED lamps, dedicated brackets and all the hardware. Nothing has to be sourced separately.
The lamps — OSRAM Lightbar VX180-SP SR
- 19 W per lamp, 38 W for the pair
- 1400 lm per lamp, 2800 lm in total
- beam range at 1 lx: up to 320 m
- colour temperature 6000 K
- lamp dimensions 192 × 67 × 35 mm, weight 550 g
- IP6K8 and IP6K9K sealing, service life over 5000 hours
- open wire lead, test voltage 13.2 V
- ECE R10 and ECE R149 approvals, E9 marking, reference number 25
It is a compact single-row lamp — 35 mm tall and 550 g each, figures that matter when the supporting structure is 3D printed and the lamp sits in a grille rather than on a steel bar.
The ORAX Systems brackets
The brackets are 3D printed in black material resistant to UV and elevated temperature and shaped to the Discovery III factory grille. The lamps sit securely and read as part of the front end.
Fitting
The OSRAM Lightbar VX180-SP SR can be fitted without cutting anything in the grille. If you want the closest fit and the lamps seated deeper, the manufacturer recommends cutting the rear joint of the grille. The order is forgiving: fit first, trim afterwards if you decide to.
In the box
- 2 × OSRAM Lightbar VX180-SP SR LED lamps
- dedicated brackets for the Land Rover Discovery III grille
- complete set of mounting bolts
Who it is for
For Discovery III owners driving off tarmac after dark who would rather not change the car's outline with an external structure. Szekla4x4.pl is an authorised OSRAM dealer and runs its own off-road workshop.
