A roof bar on a Vito stays with you all year, and you genuinely need it maybe a dozen times. The rest of the time it is extra height, a loom run the length of the vehicle, and something you notice in every low car park. Which is why on a van it usually makes more sense to put the light at the front, where you are looking anyway.

This ORAX Systems bracket set seats two LED lamps inside the original Mercedes-Benz Vito W639 grille — level, symmetrical, and with nothing sticking out beyond the bodywork.

Construction

ORAX Systems produces the brackets by 3D printing in a black material resistant to UV and elevated temperature. The part works inside the radiator grille, so heat and sun resistance is not a marketing line here — it is the condition for the brackets still holding the lamps where you set them after several seasons.

Which lamp they suit

The set was designed around Kramp LA10811 lamps, 204 × 70 × 67 mm. Other LED lamps of similar size and mounting method may fit as well — with a different model, compare the specifications before buying.

Fitting — grille cutting required

Installation requires cutting away selected parts of the original radiator grille, which is what allows the lamps to sit correctly and the whole assembly to line up. The brackets are fixed with plastic screws supplied in the set. Before any cutting, test-fit the brackets with the lamps and mark the sections to be removed — a grille cannot be uncut.
