A Vito W639 rarely finishes the day on a lit car park. A five-in-the-morning entry to a building site, a gravel track to a plot of land, unloading under a streetlight that does not exist — in those situations the factory dipped beam is simply too narrow and too short.

This kit adds two powerful lamps where nothing sticks out and nothing gets in the way: inside the original radiator grille. The brackets were designed and made by ORAX Systems for this exact grille, so the lamps sit in the line of the front end rather than above it.

How much light

Two Kramp LA10811 lamps, each rated 60 W and 5,040 lm, give 120 W and 10,080 lm together. The Combo beam mixes a short wide spread with a spot section — useful both when manoeuvring on an unlit yard and when driving a dirt road. Three lighting modes and an E-BOOST function with last-mode memory mean you are not clicking through settings every time.

Durability

The housing is aluminium, the lens polycarbonate, and sealing is rated IP68 and IP69K — the latter covers high-pressure washing, which counts on a working van that goes through a jet wash every week. A single lamp measures 204 × 70 × 67 mm and uses a Deutsch DT4P 4-pin connector on a 0.9 m four-core lead. Rated life is quoted at a minimum of 30,000 hours.

ORAX Systems brackets

The mounts are 3D printed in black material resistant to UV and elevated temperature, and they go in with the supplied plastic-fixing screws. Fitment covers the Vito W639 from 2003 to 2014.

Fitting — read this first

Installation requires cutting away selected parts of the original radiator grille. Test-fit the lamps and brackets and mark the sections to be removed before any cutting starts. The lamp manufacturer declares ECE R10 approval for electromagnetic compatibility, along with CE, UKCA, RCM and RoHS markings.
