The Ducato III left the factory in 2006 as a commercial van, and half of them now carry camper conversions and finish the day on a forest car park or a dirt track leading to somewhere to sleep. The factory headlights are set up for tarmac and for speed — manoeuvring in the dark and on unsurfaced ground, they leave exactly the wrong things in shadow.

This kit adds light without changing the shape of the vehicle: two Kramp LA10811 lamps sit inside the original radiator grille on brackets designed and produced by ORAX Systems specifically for this model. The kit is intended for the pre-facelift Ducato III (X250), model years 2006–2014.

How much light

A single lamp gives 60 W and 5,040 lm, so the pair delivers 120 W and 10,080 lm. The Combo beam mixes a wide spread close to the vehicle with a longer spot throw — the first matters when manoeuvring and on narrow tracks, the second on open stretches after dark. There are three lighting modes plus an E-BOOST function that remembers the last mode used, so the lamps come back on the way you left them.

How the lamps are built

The housing is aluminium, the lens polycarbonate, and sealing is rated IP68 and IP69K — the second of those covers high-pressure washing, which translates directly into service life on a van that visits a jet wash regularly. A single lamp measures 204 × 70 × 67 mm, bolt-mounted, with a Deutsch DT4P 4-pin connector on a 0.9 m four-core lead. Rated life is a minimum of 30,000 hours. The manufacturer declares ECE R10 approval covering electromagnetic compatibility only, alongside CE, UKCA, RCM and RoHS markings.

The brackets

The ORAX Systems brackets are 3D printed in a black material resistant to UV and elevated temperature, chosen for life inside a radiator grille. They go in with the supplied bolts, and the black finish lets them disappear into the factory grille.

Fitting — grille cutting required

Installing the kit requires cutting away selected parts of the original radiator grille. Without that the lamps cannot be seated correctly. Test-fit the lamps and brackets first, mark the sections to be removed, and only then cut — on a grille this is a one-way change.
