Old Man Emu MT64 shock absorber, part number MT64901006 – front, heavy, for the Toyota HiLux from 2023. Valving is matched to a specific OME spring and to the vehicle's real mass. The price is per unit; an axle needs two. We confirm fitment to the exact model year and version before dispatch, so nothing has to go back.
A factory shock is matched to the vehicle that left the showroom: no steel bar, no winch, no drawers and no forty kilos of gear on the roof. After the first trip the damping no longer keeps up – the vehicle floats over corrugations and leans in corners.
MT64 is a monotube design with a 64 mm bore – larger than most monotube shocks on the market. More oil and bigger shim stacks mean less heat build-up and steadier damping over long corrugations.
The key practical feature is the adjustable spring seat. Six machined grooves in the aluminium body, 5 mm apart, let the seat be raised or lowered with the supplied circlip. Add a steel bar and a winch and you raise the seat rather than buying a different spring.
Range MT64 | Application front, Heavy, Toyota HiLux from 2023 | Price covers one unit |
Per the importer's listing, this shock is intended for: Toyota HiLux from 2023.
A note on the fitment source: this part number does not appear in the Old Man Emu suspension selection catalogue we hold. The fitment stated here comes from the importer's listing. We confirm it with the supplier before dispatch – send us the model year, engine and body version and we will check it for you.
OME shocks are matched to the spring and to the vehicle's real mass. If you are building the suspension from scratch or adding gear, get in touch – we will match the whole set rather than a single part.

Is the price for one shock or a set?
The price is for one unit. An axle needs two, a vehicle four – ask us and we will put the set together.
Will shocks alone lift the vehicle?
No. Height comes from the spring or leaf pack; the shock is matched to it. Quoted lift figures refer to a complete suspension kit, not to the shock on its own.
Do both sides have to be replaced together?
On one axle, yes. Shocks wear at a similar rate, and a damping difference between left and right spoils the handling.
How do I know which version to choose?
It comes down to the vehicle's real mass: steel bar, winch, drawers, rack, tray load. Tell us what you have and what you plan to fit, and we will match the kit rather than guess.
We fit and set up suspension in our own workshop, including the alignment afterwards. Send us the vehicle model and the list of accessories.
