A set of ARB steel underbody guards for Mitsubishi L200 from 2006. The steel is 3 mm thick and the guards mount in the factory mounting holes, so nothing has to be drilled in the chassis. This protects the components under the vehicle whose damage ends a trip: the sump, the steering and the transmission.

ARB 3 mm underbody protection - Mitsubishi L200 from 2006

There are a few things under a four-wheel drive that cannot be fixed at the roadside: the sump, the steering, the gearbox housing and the transfer case. Factory guards are usually thin sheet or plastic, designed for stones off the road rather than for a rock you drive onto with the full weight of the vehicle. ARB steel skid plates turn the most vulnerable part of the vehicle into a surface you can slide across instead of stopping on.

Key features

  • 3 mm steel – real protection, not a mud shield
  • Mounts in the factory mounting holes – no drilling in the chassis
  • Designed for one specific vehicle rather than a universal plate cut to fit
  • Mounting points arranged so the guard can be removed for servicing

Fitment

The set is for Mitsubishi L200 from 2006. The guards mount in the factory mounting holes.

The importer does not specify which L200 generations this number covers – the model has had several variants since 2006. We confirm fitment with the supplier before dispatch.

Installation notes

The guards mount in the factory mounting holes, so nothing has to be drilled in the chassis. This is work on a hoist and usually for two people – steel panels are heavy and you hold them above your head. For complete sets, allow an hour to two depending on the vehicle.

Two things to check after fitting: that the oil drain plug and the filters are still accessible, and that the guard does not cover the jacking points. Keep the weight in mind too – a complete steel set is several tens of kilograms added under the front of the vehicle, and you will feel it in the front springs.

Frequently asked questions

Does fitting require drilling?

No. ARB guards mount in the vehicle's factory mounting holes.

Will the guard make oil changes harder?

It should not – ARB panels provide access to the drain plug, and the mounting points are designed so they can be undone for servicing. If in doubt we will check it for the specific part number.

How much does it weigh?

It depends on the vehicle and how many panels the set covers – for complete sets, several tens of kilograms. Where the manufacturer states a weight for the part number, you will find it in the technical data above.

Does the suspension need attention afterwards?

A complete steel set adds weight under the front of the vehicle. If you already have a steel bar and a winch, it is worth checking the front springs at the same time – we are happy to help match them.

Not sure this is the number for your version? Send us the model, year, engine and gearbox – we will confirm the choice with the supplier. We do the fitting in our own workshop.
