The ARB MT64 Heavy rear shock absorber for the Toyota LandCruiser 150. A monotube design with a 64 mm bore, an aerospace aluminium body and a 22.5 mm shaft. Six machined grooves let the circlip and spring seat be moved through six positions at 5 mm intervals, so one spring covers a range of vehicle loads.
A touring vehicle gains weight every season: a bar, a winch, drawers, a tank, a roof load. Usually that means replacing the suspension along the way. The MT64 handles it differently – the spring seat moves through six positions at 5 mm intervals, so preload and ride height are adjusted without changing the shock. Add a 64 mm bore and an aluminium body that sheds heat far faster than steel.
Design 64 mm monotube | Shaft 22.5 mm | Spring seat six positions at 5 mm |
The shock is intended for the rear axle of the Toyota LandCruiser 150.
Setting the circlip and spring seat higher gives more spring preload and more height – for accessories or other added load. Setting it lower prepares the strut for a lighter vehicle, for example one without a steel bar and winch.

What does the name MT64 mean?
A monotube design with a 64 mm internal bore.
Is the shock sold in pairs?
This catalogue item is a single shock. Suspension work is normally done on both sides of an axle – get in touch and we will make up the set.
Why an adjustable spring seat?
It lets one spring cover a range of loads. As the vehicle gains weight over time the shock is adjusted rather than replaced.
Planning suspension for a loaded vehicle? Get in touch – we will match springs, shocks and the rest to your vehicle as it actually weighs, not to a catalogue.
