A bottle jack works on hard, level ground with a short stroke. Off road there is usually neither: the vehicle sits in a rut, a wheel hangs in the air and the lift point is higher than the jack can reach. 48 inches of travel and 1050 kg of capacity address exactly that.

Use
A general purpose jack: lifting a vehicle off road, wheel work, moving a vehicle sideways and workshop use. The 48 inch height covers lifted vehicles and large tyres.
