Replacement elastomer insert for MetalCloak Duroflex joints, sized 2.63" x 2.62" x 0.71" (approx. 66.8 x 66.5 x 18.0 mm), with a compound reinforced with DuPont Kevlar fibre. MetalCloak uses it in, among others, MetalCloak control arms 8201, 8203, 8204, 8206. Sold individually, so a worn joint can be rebuilt without replacing the arm.

MetalCloak Duroflex Bushing 2.63D x 2.62L x .71ID with Kevlar (part no. 7377)

A control arm joint works with every metre you drive: millions of tiny movements on tarmac, large twist angles off road. When the insert wears out, a Duroflex joint needs neither a new arm nor a new housing, only a new elastomer insert.

This is genuine MetalCloak insert no. 7377, sized 2.63" x 2.62" x 0.71" (approx. 66.8 x 66.5 x 18.0 mm). MetalCloak uses it in, among others, MetalCloak control arms 8201, 8203, 8204, 8206.

Key benefits

  • Vibration damping. MetalCloak claims an OEM-quality ride and better damping than rubber Clevite-style bushings. In practice, less axle vibration reaches the body.
  • High misalignment. The joint lets the arm work at an angle without binding, which means freer axle articulation off road.
  • Self-centering. Once unloaded, the arm returns to its neutral position.
  • Absorbs micro-movements. The elastomer takes up the small rotational movements of daily driving that gradually wear out conventional ball-type flex joints.
  • Bearing-like outer surface. At large angles the outer surface of the insert rotates in the housing instead of binding the arm.
  • Kevlar in the compound. MetalCloak's proprietary elastomer is reinforced with DuPont Kevlar fibre. Kevlar inserts carry an "M" logo on the outer surface.
  • Easy to rebuild. The joint does not need parts replaced every year; when it is time, you pull the insert, clean it, grease it and reassemble.

The Duroflex joint combines the factory bushing and a flex joint. This product is the black insert in the middle.

Frequently asked questions

Is the joint housing included?

No. This is the elastomer insert only; it fits into the housing already in the arm.

How do I choose the right size?

By your control arm part number in MetalCloak's application guide or by dimensions: diameter, length and bore. Inserts that differ only in length or bore are not the same product.

Which grease should I use?

MetalCloak uses Superlube for Duroflex inserts.

How do I recognise the Kevlar insert?

By the MetalCloak "M" logo on the outer surface.

Why choose it

  • Genuine MetalCloak part.
  • Rebuild the joint instead of buying a new control arm.
  • Bought from an authorised MetalCloak dealer with an in-house workshop.

If you are not sure which size fits your suspension, contact us before ordering, ideally with the part number of your control arm.
