OMU Gear Shift Knobs — Jeep Wrangler JL / JLU and Gladiator JT

The shift knob is one of the few parts of a vehicle you touch every time you pull away. The factory item in a JL is adequate and nothing more. These are anodised aluminium with carbon inserts — cold to the touch in winter, but a noticeably better grip, and the change inside the cabin is obvious at a glance.

The supplier lists them for the Jeep Wrangler JL and JLU and the Gladiator, and describes the set as two OMU pieces.

Fitting and notes

The supplier gives no fitting method and no thread size. In the photo the knob looks like a shell that wraps around the factory lever and bolts together, but that has to be confirmed with the seller — especially if you have a manual gearbox, because the description does not separate manual from automatic.

There is no model year range either. The supplier lists models only: JL, JLU and Gladiator.

Frequently asked questions

Do they fit a manual gearbox?

The supplier does not distinguish. The photo shows an automatic lever — confirm your version with the seller before buying.

What does the set of two cover?

The supplier gives the count only. In the photo one knob sits on the gear lever and the other on the lever next to it.

Is any drilling needed?

The supplier does not describe the fitting. The shells in the photo are bolted together, but confirm before you buy.
