A round light mounted behind the Wrangler's spare wheel, combining a red brake light and a white reverse light in one housing. The supplier quotes 12 W, IP66 and an application range covering the Jeep Wrangler JK and JL, 2007-2026. Note: the supplier gives no E/ECE approval.

TopFire Spare Wheel Brake and Reverse Light — Jeep Wrangler JK / JL

A tailgate spare wheel blocks the rear lights, and the high-level brake light can be barely visible behind a 35-inch tyre. This light fills the centre of the wheel: red under braking, white in reverse.

The supplier quotes 12 W, an IP66 rating and an application range from the Wrangler JK through to the JL — model years 2007-2026.

Fitting and notes

The light mounts behind the spare wheel and has to be wired into the brake and reverse circuits — the supplier provides no wiring diagram and does not describe how it attaches to the wheel or tailgate. The supplier gives no E/ECE type approval for this light. Before fitting it permanently, establish its status for your roadworthiness test and registration — that determines whether you may use it on the road. The quoted 4 kg is the distributor's shipping weight, not the light's own weight.

Frequently asked questions

Is the light type approved?

The supplier quotes no E or ECE mark. We therefore do not know whether it is approved for road use — check with the distributor before fitting.

Is this one light or a pair?

Stock is held in single units and the description refers to one light. The photo shows the same unit in two modes — red and white — not two lights.

How is it wired?

The photo shows a lead with a connector coming out of the back of the housing. The supplier gives no wire count, voltage or diagram, so plan the connection to the brake and reverse circuits with an auto electrician.
