An aluminium 160x140 cm roof platform with a side ladder for the Jeep Wrangler JLU from 2018 on. What sets it apart from the ladderless version is that you get onto the roof without standing on a wheel and a door handle. The supplier states a 300 kg capacity and a full set of mounts.

Roof Rack with Ladder – Jeep Wrangler JLU 2018+

A roof platform for the four-door Wrangler, sold together with a side ladder. The ladder is exactly what sets this variant apart from plain platforms: you climb onto the roof properly instead of balancing on a tyre and a door handle, which makes a real difference with a loaded tent or luggage up there.

The photo shows a low-profile platform with cross slats, covering the full length of the hard top, and a ladder mounted vertically on the rear wing by the pillar.

Fitting and notes

The stated 300 kg is the rack maker's static figure – do not confuse it with your vehicle's permitted dynamic roof load, which is far lower and comes from Jeep's own manual. The supplier does not say whether the ladder mounts on the driver's or passenger's side, whether fitting requires drilling, what the set weighs, or what the slat spacing is for accessories. It also gives no warranty period.

Frequently asked questions

Is the ladder included?

Yes, one piece along with the platform and mounts.

Does it fit the two-door version?

No. The supplier lists the JLU, meaning the four-door body.

Is 300 kg the load allowed while driving?

Do not assume that. The permitted dynamic roof load is set by the vehicle manufacturer.
