XG Cargo Platform A – Cargo Tray for Jeep Wrangler JK / JL 4-Door

The space above the Wrangler's rear seatback is the most wasted part of the cargo area. Platform A turns it into a second level: a steel deck at seatback height, with the floor below left free for a fridge, a storage box or recovery gear.

Platform A is designed and built in the USA by California-based XG Cargo. It bolts to factory mounting points at the roof, above the rear seat – no drilling, no body modifications.

Who it is for

For owners of a 4-door Wrangler JK, JL or 4xe who carry a fridge, a camp kitchen or storage boxes and want to use the space above the rear seat instead of stacking everything on the floor. Suited to weekend camping trips and longer expeditions where every inch of cargo space counts.

Fitment

4-door Jeep Wrangler JK (manufacturer lists 2006–2018 model years) and 4-door Wrangler JL and JL 4xe (manufacturer lists 2018–2022). Not compatible with 2-door models or with Wranglers fitted with the Sky One-Touch power top – its side windows block the mounting points.

Installation

According to the manufacturer's manual, installation takes 15–20 minutes and requires no experience. Remove the rear roof mounting bolts on both sides (the ones closest to the rear seat), fit the side mounts, bolt the deck to them and tighten the roof bolts last. The roof bolts need a Torx wrench – the size depends on the vehicle version. If you install it alone, support the deck while you bolt it up, e.g. with a box.

Do not level the deck with a spirit level: the Wrangler body sits higher on the driver side from the factory. The deck should be centred and aligned with the top of the rear seatbacks.

The manufacturer states that the tray must not be used to carry flammable liquids or materials, the load must not block the view in the rear-view mirror, and the tray is not intended to be used as a bed.

Frequently asked questions

Does it fit a 2-door Wrangler?

No. Platform A is designed only for 4-door Wrangler JK and JL / 4xe models.

I have a Sky One-Touch power top. Can I fit Platform A?

No. The side windows of the Sky One-Touch top block the tray's mounting points.

Do I need to drill the body?

No. The tray mounts to factory mounting points at the roof, above the rear seat.

How much weight can the tray carry?

Up to 150 lb (approx. 68 kg), as long as the load is evenly distributed and strapped down.
