An APEX High Flow Push-On Chuck that connects directly to APEX 3/8 braided hose. It opens the Schrader valve 100% instead of the usual 50%, so air goes in faster. Closed flow and open flow adapters are included. Hard anodised finish with hardened stainless steel retention components. The chuck ships in the closed flow configuration with an open flow adapter included.

The difference between a good chuck and an ordinary one is not cosmetic. A typical chuck opens the Schrader valve about halfway.

Who it is for
For drivers who air up a full set after every trip and are tired of chucks that leak and chew up valve threads. And for anyone building an on-board air system on APEX braided hose.
Fitting the chuck and converting it
Onto the hose: remove the cover nut, slide it onto the hose (if the hose end has been used before, the manufacturer has you trim 1 inch), push the barb into the hose and tighten the nut. Off the valve: push the chuck down and pull the collar up.
Converting closed flow to open flow is a swap of adapters, but not only that: on reassembly the orientation of the parts has to be kept and the whole thing torqued to 24 in-lbs.
Which configuration to use. The manufacturer sets it out on a sheet: open flow — gauges and inflators, and small compressors and hand pumps where the chuck attaches directly to the pump. Closed flow — a hose reel, a compressor with a tank, and multi tire systems.
Frequently asked questions
Does it fit ordinary tyre valves?
Yes. The manufacturer states the chuck works with all Schrader-style valve stems. It is optimised for the APEX Rapid Precision Valve but also works on standard valves.
How does it differ from the 1/4 NPT version?
This model plugs straight into APEX 3/8 braided hose. Part X02-12-007 has a 1/4 NPT female port.
Are the adapters included?
Yes - the manufacturer states both the closed flow and the open flow adapter are supplied.
