The tent mounts to bars or a platform with an adequate static load rating. Check the permitted roof load in the vehicle manual — at a standstill the static figure applies.
Can I sleep in it in winter?
Yes, with the right sleeping bag — the tent keeps out wind and ground damp, but it does not heat.
How long does it take to open?
Fold-out (book style) versions take a few minutes. Hard-shell models open faster.
