APEX Compact Reel System (CRS) 35 ft Air Hose Reel
The longer version of the APEX Compact Reel System: 35 feet, that is 10.7 metres of hose, in a body about 38 mm deeper than the 20 ft model. A hard anodised 6061-T6 aluminium body, Viton seals, a nitrile rubber hose in a nylon braid. The mounting bracket and the inflation chuck are bought separately, and the roll cage mount in a JL/JLU needs a section of the factory trim panel cut away and two 9 mm holes drilled.
APEX Compact Reel System (CRS) 35 ft Air Hose Reel
On a pickup with a trailer, or any long-wheelbase vehicle, six metres of hose runs out exactly when the last tyre is left.
This version gives you 10.7 metres of hose in a body that still fits under a seat or against a cage.
HOSE LENGTH 35 ft / 10.7 m | MAX WORKING PRESSURE 150 PSI | CONNECTIONS 1/4" NPT, hose 0.375" |
Key benefits
- 10.7 metres of hose — reach along a pickup and trailer without moving the vehicle
- flow matched to APEX high flow valves, with very low restriction when fed from an on-board air system
- materials for permanent outdoor duty: resistant to UV, chemicals and high temperature
- an aluminium knob, lubricated and sealed, with no play

Who it is for
For pickups, long-wheelbase vehicles and anyone towing a trailer — wherever the reel has to cover the whole length of the rig, not just the tyres of the vehicle itself. It also suits a mobile workshop, where the hose is laid out around the vehicle being worked on.
Installation
The manufacturer offers three mounting options: on the roll cage in a Jeep JL and JKU, under the seat in a Gladiator, and a universal version.
NPT threads have to be sealed with Teflon tape or pipe dope — the manufacturer makes that a condition of a leak-free system.
With the universal bracket: four M6x1.0 screws 16 mm long at 5 ft-lbs and two M6x1.0 nyloc nuts, supplied with the bracket.
Mounting to the roll cage in a JL/JLU means cutting a section of the factory trim panel with a razor blade and drilling two 9 mm (5/16") holes; the M8x1.25 screws 25 mm long go to 10 ft-lbs. The bolt hole span for the vertical mount is 3.94 inches, or 100 mm.
The manufacturer explicitly forbids taking the reel apart — doing so damages it and voids the warranty.
The 150 PSI maximum working pressure is a limit for the reel, not a suggestion. A typical shop compressor can deliver more, so it matters if you are connecting the reel to a workshop line.
The manufacturer warns that mounting in a truck bed or outdoors without protection from ice and snow can cause reeling problems. The reel may be power washed, but the air chuck has to be protected from dirt and water while you do. The finish resists salt and most chemicals — except strong acids such as mag wheel cleaner.
Frequently asked questions
How does it differ from the 20 ft version?
Not only in hose length. Beyond 10.7 m against 6.1 m the body is deeper: 4.400" on this version against 2.900" on the 20 ft, about 38 mm more. Planning a tight installation? Measure the space first.
Is a mounting bracket included?
No. Brackets — universal and model-specific for Jeeps — are bought separately, and so is the inflation chuck.
Can the reel be mounted knob down?
Yes, the manufacturer allows both positions: knob up and knob down. Torque figures and the bolt hole span are in the installation section.
What if the hose chafes through?
The hose, yes — it can be cut and repaired in the field with an ordinary knife. The reel, no: APEX calls it rebuildable but forbids taking it apart and handles rebuilds in-house.
