On a Patrol Y61 lifted 4-6 inches the standard brake hose runs out of length before the suspension reaches full droop. This EFS extended hose restores the slack — front on an ABS-equipped Patrol (two required) or rear on a Musso Q200 from 12.2021. Two-layer rubber, SAE J1401.

EFS Extended Brake Hose — Nissan Patrol Y61 with ABS, SsangYong Musso Q200

Once a lift is measured in inches, the brake hose stops being a minor part. A Patrol Y61 raised 4-6 inches can use up the entire length of the standard hose before the wheel reaches full droop, which leaves the line under tension every time the axle articulates.

This EFS part number covers two very different jobs: the front of an ABS-equipped Patrol Y61 and the rear of a SsangYong Musso Q200 from December 2021. In both cases the point is the same — length the factory hose simply does not have.

Front, 2 required, 4-6" lift
SsangYong Musso Q200
Rear, 40 mm lift and above

SAE J1401

Key benefits

  • Extra length sized for a serious lift, so the wheel reaches full droop without stretching the line.
  • Two-layer rubber: the outer layer takes abrasion and stone strikes, the inner layer keeps the circuit sealed.
  • Double-crimped ends reduce the risk of the hose pulling off the fitting under pressure.
  • Built to SAE J1401, a recognised standard for hydraulic brake hose.
  • Flexible enough to move with the suspension rather than limit its travel.

Specifications

  • Type: extended flexible brake hose, front or rear
  • Nissan Patrol Y61 with ABS — front, 2 per vehicle, 4-6" lift
  • Nissan Patrol Y61: long and short wheelbase, 1999-2009
  • SsangYong Musso Q200 from 12.2021 — rear, lift of 40 mm and above
  • Construction: two-layer rubber, double crimping
  • Standard: SAE J1401
  • EFS part number: 10-1150

Who it is for: Patrol Y61 owners building a serious off-road vehicle where a 4-6 inch lift and full articulation are normal, and Musso Q200 drivers who have raised the rear by 40 mm or more.

Fitting notes

  • The Patrol application covers vehicles with ABS and a twin brake line setup only — check which system your vehicle has before ordering.
  • The manufacturer specifies two pieces for the front axle of the Patrol.
  • Bleeding the system and a leak check are required after replacing a hose.

Why it is worth it

  • Sized for a defined lift range rather than sold as a generic extension.
  • A stated standard and a stated construction instead of a promise of quality.
  • A safety item that is a poor place to economise on an off-road build.

Planning a big lift on a Patrol — put the brake hoses on the parts list alongside the springs and shocks.
