Strands Dark Knight Slim — tail and brake light, 238 mm, 12 LED

Ten millimetres of depth. That is all this lamp stands off the surface you bolt it to — less than a bolt head. Switched off it is a dark strip that reads as body trim rather than bolted-on equipment.

Touch the brake and twelve red LEDs come out of that strip, spread across the full 238 mm. One housing runs two functions: rear position light and brake light, switched by voltage on a separate wire.

Wiring and mounting

The cable carries three wires. Per the manufacturer's manual: red is the brake light positive, black is the supply positive and white is ground. Verify the markings on your own unit before connecting.

The lamp can be mounted horizontally or vertically. A rubber pad is included to level it on an uneven surface and seal the joint. The manufacturer asks you not to shorten the cable below 50 cm, to switch the power off while installing, and to make every connection watertight.
