Dark Barracks 2.0 Basic Hardside Roof Tent – 2.6 m Ladder
No wet canvas, no mould, set up in 30 seconds. The Dark Barracks Basic 2.0 has no conventional tent fabric – instead it has rigid, folding walls made of insulating aluminium. Rain, wind, heat or frost – inside it stays dry, quiet and comfortable all year round.
The Basic 2.0 is the version for solo travellers and couples – two sleeping places in a compact footprint.
Set up in 30 seconds
Arriving late in the evening in the rain is no problem. The tent sets up in about 30 seconds with no tools:
- Release the outer latches and pull the handle up.
- Pull the thin rope to raise the left, then the right wall.
- Hook the rope onto the rubber holder at the back, run it under the tent and secure it with the carabiner.
- Attach the ladder to its holder and lock the six quick-release latches at the top of the walls inside the tent.
For every season
Summer: the roof is made of 6 layers with insulating honeycomb air chambers. It keeps hot outside air out, so it stays cooler inside even in full sun, and the temperature stays stable on windy days too.
Winter: the walls are made of a special insulating material with honeycomb air chambers. It acts as a barrier between cold air and the interior and holds heat for a long time – even with minimal heating the tent stays a cosy retreat.
Floor: the honeycomb panel withstands high loads, provides insulation and stiffness, and is designed to prevent condensation.
No damp, no mould
This is the biggest advantage of a hardside tent. Water cannot get in through the walls or floor, which prevents mould and musty smells. After rain, simply wipe the walls with a squeegee and a dry cloth. A dedicated ventilation system minimises condensation inside and keeps the air circulating.
Modular design – always like new
Doors, windows and other parts can be removed and replaced individually with the matching spare part, which keeps repair costs down. Stable, corrosion-resistant aluminium frames (recyclable aluminium) and scratch- and wear-resistant materials keep the tent in good condition for a long time – and, with proper care, help it hold a high resale value.
