Dark Barracks is a South Korean brand of rooftop tents featuring rigid walls, a hard roof and multilayer insulation. Designed for overlanding and outdoor adventures, they combine sturdy construction, modern styling and practical comfort.

Dark Barracks is a South Korean rooftop tent brand created for road trips, overlanding and camping close to nature. Its defining feature is the All Around Hard construction, with a rigid roof, walls and floor enclosing the sleeping area. This design combines sturdy shelter, straightforward operation and a modern appearance.

The brand grew out of the shared passion of siblings Lee Yoo-kyung and Lee Kang-wook, who spent their childhood enjoying family adventures and camping trips. Their experience inspired them to develop a rooftop tent that would be easier to use and maintain. Particular attention went into addressing moisture, dirt and unpleasant odours, leading to a hard-wall design with solutions for managing moisture inside the tent.

Dark Barracks tents feature multilayer insulation panels incorporating aluminium, air spaces and a honeycomb structure. These panels help limit heat transfer, reducing heat gain on sunny days and improving comfort during cooler nights. The construction was developed with camping across different seasons in mind.

Dark Barracks combines a practical approach to travel with intuitive operation and carefully considered design. Rigid panels, a thoughtful folding system and modular construction that simplifies servicing address the needs of travellers who regularly put their expedition equipment to use.
