Lightweight annex that clips into the Roof Space 2 — around 7 m² of sheltered space for 6 kg. Height is set with telescopic poles and the sides roll up so it works as an awning.

Light Base annex for Roof Space 2

A rooftop tent gives you somewhere to sleep and leaves everything else outside: boots, the stove, wet jackets, getting changed. The Light Base adds around 7 m² of sheltered space underneath and turns the tent into a base camp rather than a bedroom.

It clips straight into the tent, weighs 6 kg and goes up in under six minutes with practice — on your own. Roll the sides up and it works as a plain canopy.

Key benefits

  • About 7 m² of sheltered space — room for gear, a camp kitchen and getting changed without standing on the mattress
  • 6 kg in a 100 × 16 × 16 cm bag — it lies along the side of the boot instead of filling half the car
  • Adjustable height on telescopic poles — taller vehicles included
  • Roll-up sides — the same annex becomes an awning when it gets hot
  • Can stay attached to the tent and be stored inside the case
  • The tent still closes with the annex fitted — no need to unclip it first

Who it is for

For two people who travel for more than one night. In three days of rain, the difference between a tent and a tent with an annex is the difference between sitting in the car and running a normal camp.

It also earns its place if you travel with a dog or a lot of kit — the Light Base gives you dry space below that never has to come up onto the mattress.

Fitting and notes

The annex slides into the double zip of the tent, the height is set with the telescopic poles and the whole thing is tensioned with eleven pegs. The manufacturer quotes under six minutes with practice.

Before you order: Roof Space 2 tents with serial numbers RS230001 to RS240112 need the version with an adapter. The number is inside the tent case, behind the side cover next to the gas struts — send it with your order and we will pick the right version.

Why it is worth it

  • Doubles your usable space for 6 kg
  • Stays clipped to the tent — no unclipping before the shell closes
  • Roll-up sides, so one annex also covers the awning job

Not sure whether your tent needs the adapter? Send us the serial number and we will check it for you.

Yes, the height is set with telescopic poles and the annex was designed for taller vehicles too.

Do I need an adapter?
