Rear shock absorber Ironman 4x4 Foam Cell, 2" lift — Land Rover Discovery, Land Rover Defender (24640FE)

Lifting a car by 2 inches changes the geometry the suspension works in, and the factory shock stops using the travel it has. 24640FE is a rear shock absorber by Ironman 4x4 built for a 2" lift.

Foam Cell is an oil-filled design with a foam insert instead of gas. Working length is 563–343 mm.

Fitting and notes

The shock absorber is sold per piece — one axle needs two. The 563–343 mm figure is the extended and compressed length; it is worth comparing it with what is on your car, because one model often came with several suspension variants.

We fit these in our own workshop in Warsaw. While the car is apart we check the springs, bushings and top mounts — replacing shocks alone is rarely the whole job.

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit a car with standard ride height?
This one is matched to a 2" lift. On a standard car it would work on the wrong part of its travel — for factory height, choose the standard version.

How many do I need?
Two per axle. A full set for both axles is four shocks — the front ones have a different part number.
