The history of MetalCloak products began with the Jeep Wrangler TJ. The original Arched Tube Fenders and long-travel suspension systems became the foundation for the brand’s continued development and its approach to engineering Jeep components.
This category contains MetalCloak products for the 1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and the extended-wheelbase Wrangler Unlimited, commonly known as the LJ, offered from 2004 to 2006.
The range includes complete suspension systems, shock absorbers, Duroflex control arms, Durotrak track bars, steering components, fenders, body armour, rocker protection, bumpers and spare-wheel carriers.
MetalCloak offers TJ and LJ suspension systems with different levels of complexity. The 3.5" Long Travel Short Arm kit uses the factory control-arm mounting points, while the 4.5" and 5.5" Lock-N-Load Long Arm systems are designed for more advanced builds requiring extensive suspension travel.
Separate Long Arm configurations are available for the short-wheelbase TJ and extended-wheelbase LJ. Differences in wheelbase and rear suspension geometry mean components designed for these versions should not be selected interchangeably.
The suspension systems use True Dual Rate springs, adjustable control arms, track bars, sway bar quick disconnects and other components required to position the axles correctly and restore suspension geometry after lifting the vehicle.
Adjustable MetalCloak control arms fitted with Duroflex joints allow the suspension to operate at large articulation angles without the binding associated with rigid joints. At the same time, they help isolate noise, vibration and impacts transferred to the body.
Complete control-arm sets, individual pairs and double-adjustable aluminium control arms are available. This makes it possible to build an entire suspension system from the ground up or upgrade an existing configuration in stages.
The Lock-N-Load system uses a radius-arm design engineered to provide extensive articulation and controlled suspension movement. The range includes complete systems and components for upgrading selected Long Arm suspension systems from other manufacturers.
MetalCloak offers RockSport RED Long Travel shocks and advanced 6Pak BLACK shock absorbers for TJ and LJ suspension systems.
The 6Pak design is intended for suspension systems that require extensive travel where the available installation space beneath the vehicle is limited. Shocks for different lift heights are available together with dedicated front and rear mounting systems.
When selecting shock absorbers, consider the lift height, actual suspension travel, mounting arrangement and any other components that may limit axle movement.
MetalCloak offers heavy-duty steering components for the Wrangler TJ and LJ, including complete HD steering systems, Baller Joints and RockSport steering stabilisers.
Durotrak track bars made from solid chromoly help correctly position the front and rear axles after lifting the vehicle. Versions are available for Short Arm and Long Arm suspension systems, as well as selected systems from other manufacturers.
Before ordering, check the front axle type, mounting arrangement and suspension configuration.
MetalCloak offers an extensive body protection system for the Jeep TJ and LJ. The distinctive Arched and Overline Tube Fenders are available in steel and aluminium versions with different flare widths.
Overline fenders provide additional clearance around the wheels, making it possible to accommodate larger tyres without lifting the vehicle solely to create more space beneath the fenders.
The range also includes rear flares, mounting plates, heavy-duty Rocker Rails, and full or extended rear corner guards. Separate components are available for the TJ and LJ, including versions for factory-cut and modified bodywork.
Frame-Built front bumpers can be configured with different widths, corners and accessories. This allows the front of the vehicle to be prepared for a winch and matched to the Jeep’s intended use.
The range also includes SlimCrawler and Crawler rear bumpers, together with body-mounted spare-wheel carriers. A reinforced carrier is particularly important after fitting a larger and heavier wheel that could overload the factory tailgate.
Differential covers for Dana 30, Dana 44 and Dana 60 axles, number plate relocation brackets and other body accessories are also available.
Before ordering, carefully check the vehicle version, model year, wheelbase, axle type and previous modifications. Some components differ between 1997–2002 and 2003–2006 vehicles, while parts designed for the TJ are not always compatible with the extended-wheelbase LJ.
