Fitting a 230 V circuit in a motorhome, caravan or boat and need an outlet that closes when the plug is out? The HABA C-Line socket comes complete with an Opal frame, a hinged lid and a flush-mount box. Rated 16 A and IP44, and compatible with Presto and Inprojal switching gear, so it drops into an existing build.
The conversion is finished, the furniture is in, and one irritating detail is left: a 230 V outlet that should look like part of the vehicle, not like a builders-merchant fitting. The HABA C-Line socket is designed for motorhomes, caravans and boats - it sits in a furniture panel and the hinged lid closes over the contacts when nothing is plugged in.
You get the complete set, not just the insert: a Schuko socket, a black Opal frame with a hinged lid and a flush-mount back box. A 16 A rating at 230 V leaves headroom for a kettle, an electric heater or a coffee machine, and the IP44 rating means it can also go in the galley or next to the washbasin.

For anyone building a camper or caravan interior from scratch and for anyone replacing a tired outlet in an older vehicle. It also suits boats and van conversions - anywhere a 230 V point runs off shore power or an inverter and the furniture panel is too thin for a standard building box.
The box drops into a hole in the panel and the socket either clicks in or takes two screws - the holes are 3 mm across, spaced 46 x 46 mm, the C-Line standard, so further outlets from the range line up neatly. The terminals take 0.5-2.5 mm2 conductors. Have the 230 V wiring in a vehicle done by a qualified person.
Not sure the socket will fit your panel? Get in touch - we also run a workshop and build conversions, so the answer comes from practice.
Is the flush-mount box included?
Yes. You get the complete set: the C-Line Schuko socket, the Opal frame with a hinged lid and the back box for panel mounting.
What wire can I connect?
The terminals take conductors from 0.5 to 2.5 mm2.
Does it work with other brands?
Yes - the manufacturer states compatibility with Presto and Inprojal switching gear, so you can run them in one row.
How is the socket fixed in the panel?
Click-in or with two screws - the holes are 3 mm in diameter, spaced 46 x 46 mm.
What does IP44 mean in practice?
The socket is protected against solid objects larger than 1 mm and against water splashing from any direction.
